SSI LeadershipStoreroom Solutions was founded in 1987 to help companies reduce indirect materials cost while increasing efficiency and quality. More than 20 years later, SSI is the fastest growing MRO Supplier in North America, purchasing from a portfolio of more than 2 million SKU’s for its clients.
In 1989 – attracted by SSI’s standardized managerial practices and track record for streamlining operations in plant storerooms - SSI was purchased by a Day & Zimmerman subsidiary.
In 1997 current SSI Chairman Larry Newhart and other investors purchased SSI from Day & Zimmerman, seeing value in the services offered by Storeroom Solutions. Over the next five years, SSI dramatically broadened its client base and began development of Storeroom On Site®, a core component of its cost-reducing software suite.
To bolster the infrastructure for the growing client base, in 2000 SSI established its Canadian subsidiary, Storeroom Solutions Canada Corp., for business growth into Canada. In 2008, that growth expanded to the island of Puerto Rico with its subsidiary company Storeroom Solutions Puerto Rico Corp. Storeroom Solutions Mexico, S. de R.L. de C.V. was established in 2010 to meet the growing demands of our client base who increasingly require global solutions to support their enterprise supply chain.
Today, SSI manages storerooms both on-site and virtually across North America, and is a leading, best-practice force in the MRO indirect materials management arena.

Larry Newhart, Chairman
Larry is the current Chairman of Storeroom Solutions, with a University of Chicago MBA in Finance and a BS from Penn State University. Larry’s roots in plant operations and maintenance, together with his professional services experience and customer and people-focused vision, drives our company culture.
Carlos Tellez, President & CEO
Carlos has extensive on-site facilities and engineering experience including an MA from Harvard and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford. He is former VP of Fluor, one of the world’s largest engineer-construction firms. Carlos is an involved, customer-committed leader, familiar to SSI clients.
Robert DePaolo, SVP & Chief Logistics Officer, Strategic Services Group
Bob is a veteran logistics industry executive specializing in customer relations and sales/marketing, with career responsibility for as many as 128 facilities. He’s been a big contributor to SSI’s strong growth track. Bob has a B.S. in Marketing and a minor in Logistics from Georgia Southern University.
Michael V. Weinberg, Senior VP, Sales & Marketing
Mike brings over 20 years of Sales, Marketing and Operations leadership experience from fortune 1000 firms like W.W. Grainger and NCH Corp.; as well as, mid-market strategy consulting and small business ownership. Mike has deep industry knowledge, strategic orientation and strong partnering skills, with a B.S. in Business Management from Northern Michigan University.
Albert Thorp, III, Chief Financial Officer
Al joined the executive staff in June 2011. He brings a wealth of experience in the Chief Financial Officer role including Globus Medical, Inc., a privately owned $300M spinal implant manufacturer, Technitrol, Inc., an electronics manufacturer, and two private equity sponsored businesses: Aramsco, Inc. and Brooks Instrument, Inc. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and has a B.S. in Finance and an MBA from La Salle University.
Paul Addis, Chief Procurement Officer
Paul brings more than 25 years as a seasoned professional in the world of strategic sourcing and purchasing operations. Joining SSI in 2011, he is a former principal consultant for ADCO Strategy Consulting and CPO for Wyeth Pharmaceuticals (now Pfizer). Paul holds a B.S. in Marketing and an M.B.A. from Saint Joseph’s University (Philadelphia).
Marilyn Dawes, Vice President, Chief Accounting Officer
Marilyn is responsible for management of SSI accounting systems and processes, including accurate invoice reconciliation covering 18,000 parts invoices each month from 10,000 parts vendors that service 135+ SSI service locations. She graduated Cum Laude from City University of New York.
Robert Rosend, VP Human Resources
A seasoned HR professional, Rob has more than 30 years of experience in a broad range of settings. Rob’s reputation was built around delivering high quality, customized HR services to a wide range of businesses. Rob has been a guest speaker and lecturer on a variety of HR topics as well as a featured author. Rob received a B.S. degree in psychology from the University of Wisconsin and a Master's degree in counseling psychology from Ball State University.
